At MEGURU, we only use carefully selected, top-quality "unused kimonos" made during the Showa era. Because of this, the pattern varies depending on where it is cut, and no two pieces can ever be made the same. If this fabric is lost, its brilliance will be lost forever.

Brand Story

The baton of brilliance inherited from my grandfather

I grew up surrounded by the brilliance of beautiful silk in my grandfather's kimono shop.
When my grandfather passed away in 2023, he entrusted me with the precious collection he had amassed over his lifetime. These were the finest "pure silk" pieces that had been carefully stored since the Showa era, never worn once. They were breathtakingly beautiful treasures that embodied Japanese craftsmanship.

Today, kimonos are gradually becoming less and less a part of our daily lives.
But I believe that traditions are not something to be displayed in museums. In order to truly connect them to the future, they need to evolve into a form that we can truly enjoy today.
That's why I transformed my grandfather's beloved kimono into one-of-a-kind hair accessories that fit into modern lifestyles.
